Habitat

Heath or open woodland on sandy and silty soils.

Habit

Erect shrub to 1m high (but generally less than 50cm high) with softly hairy branchlets.

Flowering

Large bright yellow flowers most of the year, particularly Aug-Nov.

Seed Collection

Monitor closely as mature seeds soon shed.

Propagation

Hibbertia species are very difficult to propagate from seed. Most, however, strike readily from cuttings.

Wildlife

Good habitat. Flowers are a food for many native insects, including moths, butterflies, wasps and bees.

Ornamental

Excellent ornamental for containers and rockeries. Prune tips regularly to promote bushiness.
